Over 100 persons joined CATO-2 New Year drinks on 7 February 2012 at TNO, Princetonplein 6 in Utrecht.
In the afternoon between CATO's General Assembly meeting (on the morning of 7 February 2012) and the meeting of the Advisory Board (8 February) there was a symposium on topics of interest to CATO and a social get-together with drinks.
Stan Dessens, chairman of the Advisory Board, welcomed everyone and gave the floor to Harro Meijer, professor at Groningen University and an expert on atmospheric greenhouse gases, for his presentation on Increase of greenhouse gases, the cause of the climate discussion. A group of TNO trainees have studied the relationship between CCS, perception and ethics. They presented their ethics tool and their CO2 collector, part of a novel approach to communicate about CCS. For the ethics tool, please look here.
A caricature artist made pictures of the people present, drawing on a t-hirt on his belly. Two colleagues assisted him to make sure that almost everybody went home with a real collector's item.
