CAPTECH, CO2 Capture Technology Development is a Dutch research programme on CO2 Capture. CAPTECH is connected and supplementary to CATO.
CGS Europe, CO2 Geological Storage is a research collaboration program aiming to establish a credible, independent, long-lasting and representative pan-European scientific body of expertise on CO2 geological storage. The CGS Europe consortium includeskey geoscientific institutions from the existing CO2NET EAST and ENeRG networks.
CO2GeoNet is a European network on research relating to geological storage of CO2. It consists of 13 partners in 7 European countires, including several CATO partners.
CO2NET represents a large and active European network in this area, with 55 members in 16 countries. UCE is a member.
The IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme (IEA GHG) presents an introduction to the capture and storage of CO2 and how it could play a significant role in reducing the release of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. There are also copies of IEA GHG reports, their regular newsletter (Greenhouse Issues), details of forthcoming conferences and links to other sites.
The CATO-project provides information and opions on CCS to the general public via www.co2-cato.nl (in Dutch).
NanoGLOWA is an EU project that aims to develop optimal nano structured membranes and installations for different applications in CO2 capture from power plants.
The website for the In Salah Carbon Capture and geological Storage (CCS) project is providing background information and up to date news on the project at the gas fields in the desert of Central Algeria:
This website provides a collection of resources related to the capture and storage of CO2:
IEA GHG has a co-operation agreement with the European Centre of Excellence on Geological Storage, CO2GeoNET. Recently they organized the 5th Open Forum and presented on the work IEAGHG is doing on building educational capacity/capacity building. The forum covered two days and there were many presentation given covering the status of geological research and public communication activities in Europe. Many of these presentations might be of interest to members and can be found on the CO2GeoNET website under the news and event section research areas - see here
